While the Survivor Advocacy Center of the Finger Lakes is the recipient of funding from public grants,  we also depend on the generosity of our community to continue to provide our programs.

Cash Gifts

Unrestricted gifts of cash provide the most flexibility to our agency and allows us to meet the most urgent needs. Donate via check made payable to SACFL or Survivor Advocacy Center of the Finger Lakes. (Please do not send cash.) Mail or deliver to Survivor Advocacy Center of the Finger Lakes, 513 W. Union St, Suite 102, Newark, NY 14513-1234.

Distributions From Your IRA

The SACFL is a qualified charity under IRS rules and can accept qualified charitable distributions from an otherwise taxable distribution from an IRA (other than an ongoing SEP or SIMPLE IRA) owned by an individual who is age 70½ or over that is paid directly from the IRA to our agency.

Qualified charitable distributions can satisfy all or part the amount of your required minimum distribution from your IRA. Contact your financial planner to initiate a distribution.

Estate Planning

Share the fruits of your life’s work  by naming the Survivor Advocacy Center of the Finger Lakes, Inc. in your will or your estate plan.

Ways to include SACFL in your estate planning:

  • Provide a bequest or other specific sum of money or asset.
  • Set up a Gift Annuity of cash or appreciated securities (contact your tax specialist – this gift offers a special advantage because a substantial portion of the guaranteed income you receive is tax-free).
  • Set up a Life Income Plan, such as a charitable remainder trust (contact your tax specialist).

Ongoing Wishlist

The SACFL also accepts donations of

  • Household items such as new bath towels, new standard pillows, pots and pans, twin size sheets or complete bedding sets, shower mats and shower curtains, floor and table lamps, new or gently used luggage, alarm clocks, nightstands and other small furniture items.
  • Staples such as paper towels, toilet paper, tissues, kitchen trash bags, light bulbs, batteries, cleaning and laundry supplies, diapers, and baby wipes, feminine hygiene products.
  • Gift cards for groceries or household supplies provide additional flexibility for meeting on-demand needs.

While you are there, you can make the Survivor Advocacy Center of the Finger Lakes your designated charity when you use Spark Good Round Up.  Give back to the SACFL by rounding up your change and donating the remainder to us when you shop on Walmart.com or the Walmart app.
