Sexual Assault
It can be hard to talk about sexual violence. Some people never tell anyone about what happened and are afraid of being blamed or not believed. Family and friends may want to help but may not know what to do or say.
The staff at the Survivor Advocacy Center of the Finger Lakes are here to offer free and confidential information and support to help survivors make decisions to support their healing. Whether you were hurt yesterday or decades ago, we are here to support you. The SACFL provides services to survivor of sexual assault and harassment, no matter their gender identity, race, age, or religious preference.
It is important to know that there is no right way to react, and that healing takes time. If you have been sexually abused, assaulted, or harassed, it is normal to notice changes in your feelings, body, and/or actions. These changes may occur immediately or month or years later. Every case is unique and each person responds in a slightly different way. No matter what your response is, you deserve support.
